Unusual Wearable Art Jewelry and 3D Collage

Anjali Shalit is a jewelry artist working primarily with stone, amber, pearls, glass and a variety of ethnic objects from around the world. Her goal is an overall harmony of color, light and texture that highlights the natural beauty and unusual juxtaposition of these various elements. Anjali is self-taught and received an Emerging Artist Scholarship from Peters Valley when she first began exhibiting here in NJ. Since then she has exhibited in the US and abroad. Her work was chosen by the Smithsonian and Newark Museum to be shown at the Newark Museum’s 100thcelebration of decorative arts and industrial design. For the past two years, Anjali has also been experimenting with 3D collage using both man-made and materials drawn from nature. She has an M.Ed. from Tufts and teaches ESL and Cross Cultural Communication.
